Bryan Ida
(USA, b. 1963)

Bryan Ida 布莱恩・伊达毕业于圣荷西州立大学,主修电子音乐编曲,居住及创作于美国洛杉矶。师承美国著名抽象画家 Sam Francis山姆.法兰西斯(1923-1994),Ida 在承袭Sam Francis奔放洋溢色彩的同时、也融合自身来自音乐性的感知,发展出独树一帜的以压克力结合环氧树脂(Epoxy)、聚酯纤维(Polyester)的多层次堆叠的四度空间表现形式,与城市和自然进行对话。多次于美国知名博物馆及美术馆展览,包含兰开斯特艺术与历史博物馆(Lancaster Museum of Art and History)、河滨市美术馆(Riverside Art Museum)、托伦斯艺术博物馆(Torrance Art Museum)、长滩美术馆(Long Beach Museum of Art)、洛杉矶当代艺术美术馆(Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles)等。作品永久收藏于加利福尼亚州迪赛塞特博物馆(De Saisset Museum)、微软(Microsoft)与杜邦 (DuPont™ Genencor® Science)等矽谷高科技公司。

Japanese American Museum San Jose

纯熟的环氧树酯创作技术,使 Ida在绘画上拥有空间感的铺述,早期透过6-7层环氧树酯(Epoxy)的绘画堆叠,让二维的平面筑起三维的视界。近期开始运用聚酯纤维(Polyester)作为创作素材,利用轻透的特性,交叠200层的绘画与聚酯纤维材料,使画面内容与细节处理愈趋细腻丰富。对Ida 而言,记忆是情感化后的经验,存在着与之呼应的形影,他以成层堆叠和埋藏的手法保留三度空间加上时间的四度表现。

Bryan Ida 以鲜活的色调诠释经典的城市与地景想像外,更在都市人文成分中加入自然的面向,「沿岸 (Littoral)」系列创作,「沿岸」是海陆相交的地带,亦即两个截然不同世界的交集处,不同于以往分明且独立的城市形象,以水波的形式柔化了画面,引出文明与自然互动的思考,同时也将城市议题更广泛的延伸与扩展。伊达对光、色彩与构图的著迷与追寻创作出交错重叠的意象,不仅提供空间上宽阔的视野,更得以将想法与影像植进结构中,使每道构面均与其他层次发生互动、产生连结,而同时也保有分离且独立的特性,如同不断堆叠地各个声部,奏出首首属于城市的交响乐章。
