凌．波儿Rine Boyer (美，b.1982) 美国俄勒冈州波特兰大学里德大学艺术创作毕业，现居住创作于芝加哥。以单色调油画为基底、个性化的符号图腾、简洁的色调、观察日常周遭人物，细腻捕捉熟悉的人物背景性格样貌、以及群体人物所代表的文青文化群体，呈现人物之间的微妙互动、以「返真文青」带给观者会心一笑。曾于Museum of Surgical Science、Illinois Institute of Technology 展出、荣获Beverly Art Center评审大奖、众多私人收藏。四度在Bluerider ART举办个展及群展。

“人”一直是凌．波儿Rine Boyer创作的核心对象，80后出生的她自小喜欢画画，以人性本善为出发，发展过众多不同的系列作品，“Hipster”文青文化系列，艺术家本人也是芝加哥文青Hipster Culture的一员，深入刻画这群拥有独特生活理念与风格的群体肖像，辅以卡匣式磁带、打字机、经典复古壁纸等图像作为笔下人物性格的标志，透过肖像呈现人物的穿着、使用物件、肢体语言、姿势及互动氛围等，进一步从个人连结到一种对于特定社群或者文化的团体描述，广泛地阐述了现代城市中属于文青的次文化，对于原真价值(authenticity)的信仰理念。“Between”系列透过家人、情人与宠物和主人之间的温馨互动，描绘情感的牵绊与褪不去的联系。波儿Boyer的画笔不仅仅记录下温暖、自适的氛围，也绘出最真挚的刹那。不同系列间有着共同的脉络，从表象的观看角度，深入至内在，每个人都是从特定角度被呈现，无论是外貌、服装、姿态、身上的文化符号，都显现当下特定地域文化，集体的特性价值观。她为每种想法、概念创造了一种“符号”，也将这个符号烙印在人物作品的表面上，看似重复的图案，每个由艺术家亲自手绘，代表着独一无二特殊的语言。符号将想法实现在人物上，就像透过一个特殊的滤镜，将艺术家所欲传达的理念与人物主题叠加在一起。在色彩的搭配上自述受到点描派代表画家秀拉 (Georges Seurat)的影响，利用深浅的、同一色系的对比色让画面呈现特殊的整体感，运用同色系不同的色调来描绘同一系列的人物，如同彩虹的光谱，站在光谱两端的人们有着某种连结。

Hipster Culture

Between

西方艺术史中，人物一直都是不退流行的主题，无论是早期彰显身份权势的肖像画、描绘特定对象的写实派、展现自我意识的自画像。人物画的元素包含多重象征，背后带有批判或是隐喻意图，人物画构图及符号指涉，在艺术史上有大量的研究与论述。美国艺术家艾力克斯．卡兹Alex Katz以「永恒存在于绝对意识中的几分钟」为核心，捕捉人物瞬间意识中的永恒时刻，日常生活的流动被压缩在一帧帧的影格中。英国艺术家朱利安．奥培 Julian Opie则以粗黑轮廓及纯色建立人物特征，融合波普艺术及极简主义，痴迷于人体及跨越媒介的组合，成为城市中的风景。而凌．波儿Rine Boyer的作品下的文青人物有着真实名字，艺术家对于个体、群体、文青文化，直观温暖而细腻的描述其喜好背景、个性、身份认同、文化价值观，这些丰富且各自表述的文青人物画，呈现着这个时代、当下集体返真的文化纪录。

凌．波儿Rine Boyer Ins系列作品，创作灵感来自艺术家身处的芝加哥艺术圈，社群媒体上的贴文，这些贴文经过联系取得对象的同意，每一幅以instagram的方形尺寸呈现，鲜明的个人特色，表现芝加哥艺术圈社群不同身份的共同气质，充满趣味性。作品‘InJung’展现艺术经营者的霸气姿态，神情上流露着自信，对各种创作可能性秉持包容与支持的态度。作品‘Jaime and Abraham’展现出Jaime在视觉戏剧领域对人及动植物的深切关怀，而搜藏家及艺术组织经营人Abraham低调地用自己的方式参与艺术圈并乐于其中。作品‘Cesar’本人经常在社交圈活跃，乐于分享自己在世界旅行的经历及热情性格。本次系列作品展现了芝加哥艺术圈的活力与紧密的人际关系，这也是凌．波儿Rine Boyer想捕捉生动的群体缩影。

凌．波儿Rine Boyer创作，真实不矫作持续探讨提出的问题：「我们如何看待彼此？」「通过哪种镜头？」「我们自己的想法是什么？他人投射的又是什么？」她希望自己的作品，能够打开这个社会更多对话的可能性，尤其是让人可以欣赏与自己不同、光谱另外一端的人们，因为我们看待人的方式，影响着如何对待彼此，由细节而衍生出当代文化的信念与理想。
