Bluerider ART Los Angeles • Manhattan Beach is proud to announce the opening of Pupil & Pulse—An East-West Dialogue of Perception Chapter I on May 9, presenting nearly 50 works by 17 represented artists from the East and the West. The core objective of this "East-West dialogue" is not merely to juxtapose two contrasting styles, but rather to break the traditional dichotomies of "external vs. internal" and "material vs. spiritual" within the context of contemporary art. In an era of information overload and hyper-speed, a singular mode of perception can no longer fully encapsulate the spiritual landscape of modern individuals. Through the collision between the precise sharpness of the Western "Pupil" and the profound introversion of the Eastern "Pulse," we aim to create an inclusive "third space" that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. Here, Western visual tension awakens contemporary innovation within Eastern philosophy, while Eastern emptiness and stillness provide an anchoring point for Western technology and materiality. Under this curatorial concept, perception becomes the starting point of all experiences. The exhibition title uses "Pupil" and "Pulse" as dual metaphors, revealing two distinct yet complementary modes of artistic perception.
