Working with space as his primary medium, Wolfgang Flad liberates sculpture from the ground, transforming it into suspended, three-dimensional linear structures within a soaring architectural volume. Expanding into the air, the works generate interwoven negative spaces that continuously dissolve and recompose their forms in visual perception.
Through suspension, these sculptures intervene within the architecture, forming layered relationships with walls, ceilings, and circulation paths. Light passes through their open structures, casting shifting shadows that animate the სივრც and further intensify a sense of temporality and transformation.
Within the double-height space, the works are no longer anchored to a single frontal viewpoint. Instead, they unfold through the viewer’s movement, revealing themselves across shifting heights and perspectives. The sculptures thus become spatial events to be experienced—guiding the gaze, engaging bodily perception, and opening a renewed understanding of the relationships between scale, structure, and flow.
