Founder Elsa Wang on “Post-85 Taiwanese Young Artists Open Call”
Eight years on, reignited with renewed momentum. Bluerider ART proudly announces the official launch of the “2026 2nd Post-85 Taiwan Young Artists Open Call”, commencing on February 1, 2026. Building upon the inaugural 2018 edition’s public-oriented initiative, this program continues its commitment to nurturing emerging talent—creating a professional bridge for Taiwanese artists born after 1985 to connect directly with the global art scene.
Looking back to 2018, the inaugural public initiative “Bluerider OPEN: Open Call for Taiwanese Young Artists Under 35” successfully discovered 12 promising emerging talents. Over the past eight years—through close market observation and shifting environments—Bluerider ART has witnessed the maturation and transformation of Taiwan’s young creative force. In 2026, we choose to relaunch this program at a time of global slowdown—not only to discover artists, but to open a gateway for young Taiwanese talents to step onto the international stage.
The core of this edition lies in the “upgrade of a comprehensive support system.” We recognize the challenges young artists face in the early stages of their practice; therefore, selected artists will not only gain the opportunity to present their work on Bluerider ART’s professional platform, but will also have access to the following in-depth resources:
- International Platform: Selected artists will be given priority access to gallery-curated international exhibitions and art fairs, transcending geographical boundaries and enabling their works to enter the global collector network.
- In Dialogue with Leading International Artists: Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit alongside internationally acclaimed artists represented by Bluerider ART. Within the gallery’s curatorial framework, emerging practices will engage in dialogue with established voices, fostering visibility, discourse, and critical exchange.
- Professional Curatorial Support: Our curatorial team will work closely with emerging artists to refine and articulate their concepts, transforming intuitive practices into a distinctive artistic language with international relevance and competitiveness.
- Multi-dimensional Promotion Leveraging Bluerider ART’s established presence across Europe, Asia, and the United States—including London · Mayfair, Los Angeles · Manhattan Beach, Shanghai · Bund, and Taipei · Dunhua—the gallery offers extensive promotional resources. Through multilingual and multi-channel strategies, we enhance artists’ visibility on a global stage.
Bluerider ART firmly believes that the core value of emerging art lies in originality, individuality, and the courage to challenge conventions. This open call welcomes all media and forms of artistic expression. We seek artists whose practices embody originality and distinctiveness, and who engage in meaningful dialogue with contemporary society. On the international platform of Bluerider ART, your work will extend beyond personal expression to become a vital force—one that shapes the artistic ecosystem and resonates within the public sphere.
Every extraordinary journey begins with a bold decision. Bluerider ART warmly invites emerging artists from Taiwan born after 1985 to join us in shaping the future—amplifying the voice of art across global contexts. We look forward to your participation, and to walking this path together with Bluerider ART—connecting internationally, and moving toward the future!
