Curatorial Statement
Bluerider ART London·Mayfair is pleased to present the upcoming group exhibition “Unspoken Red Swings”, opening on 7th August, 2025. This exhibition explores the intersection of visual, spiritual, and emotional dimensions, delving into the profound interplay of colour, texture, and poetic depth. Featuring a range of international contemporary artists, including paintings, installations, and sculptures, the exhibition responds to the emotional intensity of classical literature. Through layers of colour and sculpted textures, it creates a cross-temporal and cross-cultural dialogue on time, memory, and sentiment, inviting audiences to experience how contemporary art perpetuates the eternal essence of literary poetry in both abstract and figurative forms.
“Unspoken Red Swings” is inspired by the timeless verse of Chinese poet Ouyang Xiu (Song Dynasty, 1007-1072) “Tearful eyes question the flowers, but they remain silent; scattered petals drift past the swings.” In this poem, “scattered petals” symbolise fallen blossoms, carrying connotations of farewell, remembrance, and impermanence, while “swings” metaphorically represent the passage of time and the ebb and flow of emotions. The exhibition’s title, “Unspoken Red Swings”, encapsulates the free-flowing nature of colour compositions, akin to petals carried by the wind, and the interplay of emotions embedded within layered brushstrokes. It evokes contemplation on time, memory, and the transient nature of life.
Ouyang Xiu’s poetry endures through the ages for its profound emotional depth, delicate imagery, and unique philosophical insight. “Tearful eyes question the flowers, but they remain silent” conveys a sense of longing and the unyielding passage of time, while “scattered petals drift past the swings” encapsulates themes of separation, loss, and nostalgia—universal sentiments that transcend time and culture. The imagery of swings not only introduces spatial movement but also serves as a metaphor for life’s cyclical nature. As time progresses, emotions and memories drift like the wind, sometimes drawing near, sometimes fading away.
This exhibition brings together Eastern and Western artists who reinterpret these poetic sensibilities through contemporary artistic expressions. Thick, impasto brushstrokes reimagine the dynamic motion of “scattered petals in the wind,” while layered light and shadow create a visual rhythm akin to the movement of swings, oscillating between disappearance and recollection. Material layering and sculpted textures act as imprints of time, reflecting the fragmentation and continuation of memory. Through the fluidity of colour, the accumulation of material, and the sculpting of textures, artists translate poetic imagery into visual language, breathing new life into classical poetry through contemporary artistic discourse.
This exhibition is not merely an exploration of literature, poetics, and artistic expression, but also an introspective response to spirituality and philosophy. From Ouyang Xiu’s verses to contemporary artistic interpretations, “Unspoken Red Swings” transforms colour into a language of emotion, recording the traces of life while allowing audiences to experience the distant echoes of poetry through shifting light and textures. In this convergence of colour and touch, we invite every visitor to embark on this poetic journey—one that transcends time, bridges East and West, and connects language, visuals, time, emotions, and art.

(Spain , b. 1954)
Riera i Aragó 里埃拉．伊．阿拉貢（西班牙，1954年生），畢業於聖喬治美術學院，是西班牙最具國際聲譽的當代藝術家之一，現居於巴塞隆那。他的作品探索「天與海之間的航行」為主題，運用螺旋槳、潛水艇和飛機等元素，建立一個關於時間、空間和生命的詩意敘事。他的個展曾於多個歐洲著名機構舉行，包括德國海布隆市政博物館、法國阿爾勒的梵谷基金會以及巴塞羅那的胡安·米羅基金會。他的作品永久收藏於包括梵谷基金會、胡安·米羅基金會以及位於芝加哥的波音公司等。

曹吉岡 Cao Jigang
(China, b.1955）
曹吉岡 Cao Jigang（中國, b. 1955）出生於北京，1984年畢業於中央美術學院油畫系，2000 年畢業於中央美術學院油畫系材料表現研修組，曾任教於中央美術學院造型學院基礎部，現居住創作於北京。曹吉岡的創作融合東西方美學、文人思想，早期以油畫描繪長城廢墟，歷經不同時期鑽研，後選擇歐洲古老坦培拉技法，畫出巨幅《廣陵散》、《荒寒》系列，作品獨有的半透明光感、瓷釉般溫潤的玉質感，以「有為」的層層塗抹，表達「虛空」意境，近期「去山水化」、「極簡」風格，更打開天人哲思的想象空間。曾獲第九屆全國美展銀獎（1999）並多次於中國美術館及海內外展出，作品由中國美術館、上海美術館等機構，以及兩岸三地資深藏家永久收藏。
Carol Prusa 卡蘿・普魯莎
(USA, b. 1956）
畢業於美國德雷克大學(Drake University)藝術碩士，主修繪畫，現居住與創作於美國北卡羅來納州。 普魯莎傳承文藝復興時期的銀針筆繪畫技法，鑽研天文物理學，詮釋宇宙演化的混沌相互作用，經由銀針筆的精密與洗煉灰階，以大規模銀線描繪，獨樹一格地融入雕塑形式，表達宇宙奇異之美創作聞名。 獲得SECAC藝術成就獎。 作品受邀備受國際尊崇的美國藝術與文學學會(American Academy of Arts and Letters)邀請展，創作收錄於多本銀針筆歷史書冊，並獲全美十數間美術館永久收藏，包括邁阿密佩雷斯美術館(Perez Museum of Art, Miami)，紐約美術與設計博物館（Museum of Arts and Design, New York)，特爾費爾藝術博物館（Telfair Museums）、弗朗西·古德和大衛·霍爾維茨收藏，以及藝術與科學博物館（Museum of Arts and Sciences）等，並於多個包括博卡拉頓藝術博物館(Boca Raton Museum of Art)，西棕櫚灘博物館等舉辦大型個展。
Christiane Grimm 克里斯蒂安．格琳
(Germany, b. 1957)
畢業於斯圖加特大學Universität Stuttgart建築所。她的創作被稱為「不插電的動態光影」。多年來她持續實驗研究光線、色彩、空間，與特殊玻璃、壓克力等材質的特性結合，有系統地、精確地、處理分層感知色彩，讓物理光線影響著圖像的具體性，作品隨著光線變化、觀看位置不同，顯示立體漸層以光作畫。作品於德國 Museum Ritter、Wilhelm Hack Museum 展出並獲頒 The public’s choice award 獎項。獲德國海德堡市政府、德意志銀行，以及眾多私人美術館Das Kleine Museum、 Kunsthalle Würth、私人機構PwC資誠聯合會計事務所…等永久收藏。
Dirk Salz 迪爾克・薩爾茲
(Germany, b. 1962）
迪爾克・薩爾茲 Dirk Salz（Germany, b. 1962）從小學習繪畫與藝術史，目前創作並居住於德國魯爾河畔的米爾海姆。薩爾茲在創作過程中從不使用畫筆與畫布，而是透過油漆滾筒及潑灑樹脂的重力作用，使得他的作品跳脫出傳統極簡主義的框架，持續探索透明度、色彩的影響，以及光線與空間的關係。其作品受到Akzo Nobel藝術基金會及眾多私人藏家與著名機構的收藏。
Nick Veasey 尼克・維西
(UK, b. 1962)
尼克．維西Nick Veasey（UK, b.1962）現居英國肯特，主要以X光攝影創作。透過X光獨特的穿透力，尼克．維西揭露事物的層層外衣，展現表面之下的真實面貌，幽默而頑童式探索人事物內在的本質。維西Veasey在世界各地擁有豐富的展出經歷，作品登上《TIME》時代雜誌封面，近期與Alexander McQueen SS23的合作，於維多利亞與艾爾伯特博物館的年度特展”Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion”，展出受邀拍攝的古董服飾，以及於瑞典知名攝影美術館Fotografiska舉辦大型回顧展，並獲得英國威爾斯親王夫婦及瑞典王儲親臨觀展。最近的展覽包括在Erarta當代藝術博物館的“X Men”和在Amorepacific藝術博物館的“APMA第三章”。作品永久收藏於倫敦維多利亞與艾爾伯特博物館、美國舊金山現代藝術博物館、美國時尚科技學院博物館、德國BMW博物館、英國國家科學與媒體博物館，以及瑞士應用藝術與設計博物館。同時與路易威登、聯合航空、巴黎世家等國際品牌進行重要合作。
Marck 馬克
(Switzerland, b. 1964）
馬克Marck（瑞士，b. 1964），瑞士當代藝術家以錄像雕塑（Video Sculpture）聞名，現生活和工作於蘇黎士。馬克Marck是一名非典型的藝術家，年輕時才華洋溢進入知名藝術學府，卻因無法忍受制式教育而半途輟學，之後從事汽車拆解、機械電工、搖滾歌手、設計科技裝置等。馬克Marck異類豐富的人生體驗，走出學院派藝術家的想像，自行創造的錄像雕塑表現型式，以框架、女性、觀看、互動，拋出社會議題深入人心。由Bluerider ART介紹至亞洲，2019年獲義大利Academia Culturale Internazionale Cartagine頒發International Culture Award獎項。作品於國際重要展覽展出，拉珀斯維爾藝術中心、聖彼德堡當代美術館等，並由波士頓藝術博物館、伊斯坦布爾藝術中心、卡爾斯魯厄多藝術與媒體中心等重要國際機構及全球眾多私人收藏。
Pascal Dombis 帕斯卡爾・多比斯
(Frence, b. 1965)
帕斯卡爾·多比斯 Pascal Dombis（法，b.1965 ）出生於法國巴黎，是一位以語言和感知為重點的視覺藝術家，以演算法創作聞名。90 年代初期在波士頓完成學業回到法國後，便由繪畫轉向演算法創作。他創造了一個以過度、重覆和運算過程不可預測的環境，旨在融入觀眾，提出對空間、時間和語言的相關感知的質疑，開創了人與空間環境遊戲，以刺激多重解讀的多面向作品。近期展覽包括巴黎大皇宮的「藝術家與機器人」（2018）、聖保羅Itaú文化中心的「控制論意識」（2017）和威尼斯雙年展（2013）。2020 年受邀於上海陸家嘴金融中心創作長達近百米的永久公共藝術品「雙重連接」。2022 年於索羅卡巴當代藝術博物館舉辦「後數字」個展。作品由眾多國際藏家與機構收藏。
François Bonnel 弗朗索瓦・邦內爾
(France, b.1968)
弗朗索瓦・邦內爾François Bonnel（法國, b.1968）是一位抽象藝術家，目前居住創作於法國圖魯茲。邦內爾以即興的方式進行藝術創作，將音樂性融入創作中，在過程中不斷探索各種創作技巧及媒材，包括使用數位媒體、攝影及拼貼技術。隨著音樂性的不同風格，直率單純的線條、形狀、色彩，具高識別度，自由而純粹地釋放對藝術的熱情。作品永久收藏於美國哈佛藝術博物館，更獲紐約路易威登、巴黎歐萊雅、Longchamp等國際精品及眾多私人收藏。
Thierry Feuz 西瑞．菲茲
(Swiss, b. 1968)
西瑞．菲茲Thierry Feuz (瑞士, b. 1968)，出⽣於維也納，擁有瑞⼠⽇內瓦藝術與設計⼤學碩⼠ （Haute École d’Art et de Design），⽬前以⽇內瓦為創作據點。在他的藝術世界中，藝術、科學、哲學是相遇的，他關⼼⼈類普世間共有的「存在」(Existence)之意義，並⽤獨有的繪畫技術呈現未曾可⾒之境域。西瑞．菲茲Thierry Feuz作品亦獲重要機構與美術館收藏，包含瑞⼠歷史與藝術博物館（Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, Neuchâtel）、新加坡藝術基⾦會（Singapore Art Foundation）、瑞⼠銀⾏（UBS）、美國薩克斯第五⼤道精品百貨（Saks Fifth Avenue）以及微風集團、⽟⼭銀⾏等企業收藏。
Beñat Olaberria 貝納特・奧拉貝里亞
(Spain, b.1970)
來自西班牙北部的巴斯克，目前創作及居住於英國倫敦。創作的過程猶如一次次未經計劃的冒險，以個⼈視覺邏輯與創作語彙達到美感上的平衡，並以此探索思想的未知領域，透過抽象作品呈現不完整、不確定的⼀⾯。擁有倫敦城市與公會藝術學校美術碩士學位，曾多次參與英國各地群展以及國際展覽，近期也於巴塞隆納、瑞士、倫敦等歐洲城市舉辦個展。作品獲美國、歐洲私人藏家永久收藏。
Kari Anne Helleberg Bahri 卡里．安妮．赫勒伯格．巴赫里
(Norway, b. 1975)
畢業於挪威奧斯陸國家藝術學院服裝設計（National Academy of the Arts, Oslo），自小在充滿創造力的環境長大，跳脫典型挪威式極簡風格，承續北歐憂鬱冷冽的氣質，融合服裝工藝，利用舊衣、碎布、殘片織品，混亂中透過解構、縫合、再造，賦予作品新意象，以中性色彩的織品藝術（Textile Art) 探討當下社會集體的限制、期待、秩序、孤立議題，形成個人獨特風格。曾於挪威Kunstmuseet NordTrøndelag、Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum等美術館、及丹麥Socle Du Monde雙年展展出，作品由Kongsberg Municipality，Den Norske Husflidforening等機構永久收藏。
Jan Kaláb 楊・克拉
（Czech Republic，b. 1978）
楊・克拉Jan Kaláb（捷克，b. 1978）畢業於捷克布拉格藝術學院（Academy of Fine Arts in Prague），現居住創作於布拉格。捷克塗鴉先驅的楊・克拉Jan Kaláb 30年創作，持續走在一條非傳統藝術家之路，從街頭塗鴉走入純白空間，以點出發，發展出圓的形變及3D立體雕塑，將戶外狂放濃縮在幾何形變畫布上。曾代表捷克在上海世界博覽會捷克館展出，作品收藏於捷克和斯洛伐克國家博物館、巴西國家藝術博物館、中國德基美術館、韓國烏山美術館，更獲DIOR、Tiffany等國際精品及眾多私人收藏。
張惠文 Eunice Cheung Wai Man
( Hong Kong, b.1986 )
畢業於香港中文大學藝術系碩士學程，主修工筆動物畫創作，當今香港「新工筆」繪畫代表人物之一。擁有豐富國際展出經驗的Eunice CHEUNG Wai Man於2013年至2016年期間連續四年參展香港巴塞爾藝術展（Art Basel Hong Kong），2013年亦受邀成為香港蘇富比藝術空間《一墨相承：香港藝術家十二人展》聯展藝術家，與新媒體結合之系列作品曾於台灣國立故宮博物館和義大利聖十字教堂（Basilica of Santa Croce）展出，2009年作品入選《香港當代藝術雙年獎》，雖為年僅三十多歲的新生代「新工筆」創作者，實力與潛力卻備受多方肯定。
