畢業於柏林藝術大學，現居住、創作於柏林。Anklam 就讀於哈雷藝術與設計大學期間開始接觸雕塑並著墨於金屬物件，而後於2004年進入柏林藝術大學，在知名雕塑家Tony Cragg 的引導下持續鑽研雕塑並取得碩士學位。作品媒材包含金屬與不鏽鋼，Anklam 透過結合如玻璃纖維、環氧樹脂等的現代素材來增加作品的層次。軟材和硬材的結合呈現簡約、直白、清晰的語彙，他的雕塑作品透過光影與空間的交互作用構築而成。彼此跟隨並不斷流動的型態創造出視覺上獨特的感受。Anklam 也喜歡使用透明或不透明的素材，像是不銹鋼網、環氧樹脂或乳膠，以光影和環境的變化創造新的視角。
Axel Anklam utilizes the refracted light and shadows on titanium-coated stainless steel to depict the radiant sunlight on pristine snow-covered peaks, creating a dazzling appearance of pure white snow. The artistic medium includes metal and stainless steel. Anklam employs a minimalist, straightforward, and clear visual language to construct sculptures through the interaction of light and space. He abandons the conventional lines and properties of stainless steel, allowing the outward-expanding surface and the alloy-coated stainless steel surface to be preserved and utilized. This imparts unique characteristics and marks to his abstract creations, cleverly combining gold tones with energy and sunlight.
