”The exhibition, titled Timeless Odyssey, is a journey in many ways, a personal journey of mine. One I’ve been on for 50 years, with more than 150 exhibitions around the world. And for the first time in the UK to make this long journey, I have used various devices or machines such as airplanes,submarines and boat which have allowed me to approach the most remote part of the idea of the travel, that of exploration, but also the part that says we begin traveling when we plan a trip.
The part that set Imagination and dreams in motion. It all began in the early 1980s with the desire to discover a world shrouded in deep layer of mystery. One as close as the bottom of the sea and another as the center of the cosmos. Machines like submarines and our planes are what have somehow allowed me to approach this unknown world. It‘s like a child who builds to create his own reality. This entire journey has been carried out with perseverance, following a path that leads more inward, than outward. A path where intuition and daily work allow the world to evolve. But as we navigate without compass, we end up going in circles.
Often we talk about paintings or define and encapsulate meanings. But I want to leave a few words in the air that can help us understand the exhibition. Words like balance, lightness, fragility, irony, poetry and one that for me is perhaps the most important emotion. It makes you as human and sensitive. I believe each of these words is present in these works here.“
