Bluerider ART Los Angeles | Artist News Bryan Ida

Congratulations to our American artist Bryan Ida for being part of 《COLA 2025 — design and visual artist exhibition》 at The Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery.

Independent Master Artist Project, COLA IMAP has long recognized for the original and visionary creative practices of local Los Angeles artists. Brian Ida has his 《con.Text》 series, which he has been working on for nearly five years. With official documents such as the 1924 Immigration Act and Executive Order 9066 are literally inscribed on ink panels, creating portraits from the text itself. Transformed into lines and shading, these words become more than just words themselves, becoming powerful visual structures that explore the relevance of historical events in the current social and political climate, raising awareness of the oppression and injustices inflicted by the government on certain minority groups. Brian Ida uses text as the foundation of his compositions, blending, blurring, and transforming it, transforming it into emotionally rich visual images with profound sociopolitical resonance, thereby creating a new visual language. These new works represent both a continuous reflection on history and a creative practice in his artistic language.
