On the afternoon of October 17, 2025, Bluerider ART hosted the Hantoo Art Group London Opening Artist Forum at the Taipei Representative Office in the UK. The bilingual session was moderated by Bluerider ART founder Elsa Wang, with full house nearly hundred local artists, curators, and collectors joining in for in-depth exchange. Taiwan’s Ambassador to the UK Vincent C.H. Yao delivered opening remarks, and Hantoo President Kuo Wei-Kuo presented a signed monograph to the Ambassador Yao, and Lin Hsin-Yi, Acting Chief of the Cultural Division, as a token of gratitude. Further exchanges followed with Chiang Ya-chi , Minister-Counselor and Cheu-An Bi, Chief of the Education Division of the Taipei Representative Office.
The discussion between the attendees and Hantoo’s nine participating artists was lively and insightful, exploring the evolution of Taiwanese contemporary art and Hantoo’s 27-year creative journey—demonstrating the depth and vitality of cultural dialogue between Taiwan and the UK.
Opening Remarks by artist Kuo, Wei-Kuo, President of the Hantoo Art Group on Oct. 16, 2025
"Good evening to Lord Faulkner, His Excellency Ambassador Vincent Yao, Ms. Elsa Wang, Director of Bluerider ART, and all the artists and friends here today.
First, I would like to express my gratitude to Ms. Elsa Wang and her Bluerider ART team for their year-long dedication and collaboration with the Hantoo Art Group. Earlier in June, Bluerider ART presented Hantoo’s 27th anniversary exhibition “Rising in Fire” in Taipei, followed by today’s exhibition in London Mayfair, alongside another presentation at the Taipei Representative Office in the U.K. These two shows were carefully curated and executed under Bluerider ART’s professional planning.
It is a great honor for the thirteen members of the Hantoo Art Group to exhibit here in Mayfair, a place renowned for its concentration of world-class galleries. This marks Hantoo’s very first exhibition in Europe, and likewise, Bluerider ART stands as the first Taiwanese gallery to establish a permanent space in London. The collaboration between Hantoo and Bluerider ART has stirred much excitement and discussion within Taiwan’s art scene, spreading widely through my students, colleagues in the arts, and various online platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Hantoo Art Group, rooted in Taiwan for 27 years, remains youthful in spirit — open, diverse, and ever-evolving. We believe artists never truly retire; creating until the final moment of life is the artist’s destiny.
In recent years, Taiwan and the United Kingdom have enjoyed increasing exchange and collaboration across culture, economy, and technology. In the arts, many Taiwanese artists have come to the UK to study, create, and live, fostering vibrant cross-cultural dialogue. I view this as a profoundly positive development for both sides.
Through this exhibition in London, we hope to deepen our connections with local art institutions and artists, opening more channels for dialogue and collaboration.
Finally, on behalf of Hantoo Art Group, I wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to Elsa Wang and the entire Bluerider ART team for their immense effort and professionalism in realizing both the Taipei and London exhibitions. This collaboration has been a truly special and unprecedented experience for Hantoo. Thank you all for being here today. "
