Frank Maier 法蘭克．邁爾，出生於德國斯圖加特，曾於喀斯魯美術學院主修雕塑，於1996 年獲得了巴登符騰堡州授予的維也納研究生居留權，目前創作及居住於德國柏林。作品曾多次參與國際展覽遍及德國、法國、英國、美國、澳洲、義大利等國，展覽經驗包括中國青島雕塑美術館、施瓦本哈爾市政府、布蘭登堡藝術協會等，作品由巴伐利亞州立美術館、慕尼黑現代藝術陳列館、德國鐘錶品牌Kienzle藝術基金會等重要機構及私人藏家永久收藏。
法蘭克．邁爾在他復古現代主義風格繪畫當中，以鮮豔色彩表現透過美感創造及重塑現實的手段，他從強調幾何抽象的混凝土藝術（Concrete Art）藝術運動及俄羅斯建構主義藝術家使用的各種形式中汲取材料，以創造他自己的自我參照圖像架構。在他的作品《螃蟹》中，邁爾透過繪畫的過程將「螃蟹」做為生物的具體現實重新演繹，卻仍舊能從抽象幾何的防禦工具及甲殼軀體中辨識，同時喚起各種聯想。他的繪畫探索了圖層間的平衡，這些圖層與彼此連結並疊加上線條，使得畫面充滿了生命力及動態感。
