毕业于香港中文大学艺术系硕士学程，主修工笔动物画创作，当今香港「新工笔」绘画代表人物之一。拥有丰富国际展出经验的Eunice CHEUNG Wai Man于2013年至2016年期间连续四年参展香港巴塞尔艺术展（Art Basel Hong Kong），2013年亦受邀成为香港苏富比艺术空间《一墨相承：香港艺术家十二人展》联展艺术家，与新媒体结合之系列作品曾于台北故宫博物院和义大利圣十字教堂（Basilica of Santa Croce）展出，2009年作品入选《香港当代艺术双年奖》，虽为年仅三十多岁的新生代「新工笔」创作者，实力与潜力却备受多方肯定。
2015年受邀於台北故宫「艺域漫游－郎世寧新媒体艺术展」为「探索郎世寧世界之花鸟走兽」新媒体展品绘製画作。
中国艺术史上的工笔花鸟总以细緻工整的技法描绘珍禽异兽，以象徵古时皇公贵族的炫富猎奇心理、进贡帝王的吉祥祝贺之意，也因此具东方写实主义的工笔花鸟画，要求栩栩如生的细节，亦要求宫廷画匠对素描、线条绘製、渲染等技法的专注与精练。「新工笔」对于工笔画有着艺术与工艺层面上的延续，保留工笔画工整细緻的勾勒与渲染技法，同时融合西方写实主义的画面构成、色彩使用与形象表现，更展现诸多新意，兼具传统水墨韵味与当代精神双重特性。
张惠文「新工笔」绘画创作延续细腻繁複的工笔技法，主题思想则以时事、社会议题、万物间的联繫为轴心，将生活的朴质带入创作之中，颠复并超越了过往工笔画临摹山水花鸟等强调写实「美」的意境呈现。虽仍使用绢本、宣纸、毛笔等传统工笔材料，但她将工笔传统做出延伸，并以当代视角创作如诗的画作，融入超现实的意涵，更为自由地运用工笔所具有的元素进行新的视觉观表述。艺术家以拟人的型态描绘由动物视角出发的世界，不仅令人思考动物在不同环境地域与社会文化的生存状态，更串起人与动物间密不可分的关係，透过细緻的笔触绘出自然之美的咏叹；此外作品中加入许多现代生活的元素，也更引起观者的共鸣。
