Bluerider ART 藍騎士藝術空間很榮幸再參與2023年上海廿一當代藝術博覽會,展會期間將呈現多位國際藝術家的代表性作品,從具像到抽象,以不同媒材將更多前衛的當代藝術佳作呈獻給 藏家與藝術愛好者們。

2023 ART021 Bluerider ART展位E11,精心策劃展出多件繪畫、雕塑、裝置與影像作品,使展廳成為匯集當代人文、自然的多元化藝術空間。 焦點作品包含來自法國的藝術家帕斯卡爾.多比斯(Pascal Dombis),以威廉.柏洛茲(William Burroughs)的文本為基礎,運用電腦的有機增長算法使原有文本長度增加數百萬倍 ,而文字卻自然形成如X或十字等幾何形狀,藉以探討數位時代下,大數據、元資料、非線性、幾何和語言等問題。 而相較於數位化訊息的美學探討,德國藝術家魯普雷希特.馮.考夫曼(Ruprecht von Kaufmann)則以人為出發點,其標誌性的憂鬱色彩,藉由多個油氈板拼湊抽象性的線條,詮釋破碎的肢體,如夢似幻的色系調動著觀者的情緒反應。 同樣來自德國,藝術家阿德里安・沃爾德(Adrian Wald)則擅於利用不同媒介將畫布塑造成雕塑品,厚重顏料在亞麻布上形成柔軟起伏,挑戰觀者對於畫布的既定認知。

這次展位上多位女性藝術家的精采力作,呈現她們如何以不同媒介,描繪出對人、空間、自然與世界的纖細感知。 德國藝術家桑德拉.亞克曼(Sandra Ackermann)透過女性身體對當今社會所欲呈現的無暇意象提出反思; 而來自美國的藝術家潔西卡.準珂(Jessica Drenk)則圍繞自然生態,探討有機的形體與花紋塑造而出的自然形態,串連自然與人造物間循環的關係。 來自加拿大的珍娜華生(Janna Watson)與德國藝術家蘇.珊庫恩(Susanne Kühn)則分別以鮮明的色系與構圖在畫布上產生微妙的平衡,流動的筆觸在抽象與現實間喚醒 觀者的情感。

作為第三次參展ART021,Bluerider ART創辦人王薇薇Elsa Wang 表示:「上海的藝博會在亞洲藝術市場中扮演至關重要的角色,ART021更是海內外藏家的交會聚所,今年Bluerider ART的 參展陣容以橫跨多元的媒介作品呈現獨具一格的藝術語境,期待在展會上與新舊藝術好友共享交流。」

帕斯卡爾・多比斯 Pascal Dombis (France, b. 1965)
一位研究語言、演算法等領域的視覺藝術家。 他將文字、圖像、線條透過電腦與演算法產生簡單複製幾何與印刷符號,並在過程中不斷添加其他隨機參數,結合光柵(Lenticular)手法再現視覺,在解構與重組中,創造不可預測的動態圖形。 其所引起的視覺呈現,産生讓人著迷的悖論,也反應數位時代下,人們受到直接性的支配進而改變了未來,也改變了過去。

蘇珊・庫恩 Susanne Kühn (Germany , b. 1969)
創作的媒介從壓克力顏料、複合媒材、版畫、陶瓷皆有涉略。 以寫實風格為基礎的繪畫作品將不同時空的元素穿越與並置,其作品強烈、清晰的輪廓線條及色彩繽紛的特質,將自然主義元素與高度人工形式的語言相結合,展現強烈的個人特色 。 作品中可見山脈、月光、朽木、動物等自然的描繪, 巧妙結合歷史元素,時而奇想、時而現實,邀請觀者進入她所創造的虛擬世界中漫步與探索。

魯普雷希特・馮・考夫曼 Ruprecht von Kaufmann (Germany, b.1974)
擅長以當代繪畫的視覺語言研究人的各種層面,展現批判敘事與平行現實幻境。 他使用油彩創作,包括繪畫、雕塑和紙上作品,創作靈感來自生活經驗,更多時候利用閱讀文學、音樂、電影引發腦海中各種意象與想像。 他的作品中常見反復被厚塗消失、模糊的形體與面孔,充滿黑色幽默及濃烈的憂鬱色彩,反映當下我們在動搖不安的社會中的行為、思想和感受。

桑德拉・亞克曼 Sandra Ackermann (Germany , b. 1974)
透過女性身體的意象對現今媒體化的社會現象提出反思。 作品中經常以局部方式描繪女性形象,這些看似完美,如同時尚雜誌中的女性,體現了社會所欲呈現的無暇意象,創作圍繞著“什麼是現實?什麼是真理?”的問題展開,對於 當前大眾媒體所描繪社會現實及個人內心的衝突產生質疑。 看似夢幻與日常情境的作品,其實更真實的表達出許多人不願看見的真相。

阿德里安・沃爾德 Adrian Wald (Germany, b. 1986)
以「打破繪畫觀看方式或次序」的概念,創作出一系列如雕塑般的畫布作品。 沃爾德認為,繪畫的媒介沒有絕對,精緻的亞麻布或廉價泛黃的棉帆布、夾子與刷子等都可以是他創作的媒介,如《Heavy paint》系列中,沃爾德將厚重的顏料在亞麻布上塑造出枕頭般柔軟的型態,畫表面上留下或深或淺,或輕柔或硬實的凹陷印記,挑戰觀者對於畫布的既定認知。

雷諾・奧德霍恩 Reinoud Oudshoorn (Netherlands,b.1953)
專注於透視法與空間的探索以及“視覺的模擬兩可性”,將滅點(Vanishing Point)的視覺高度統一設在1.65米,繁復精準且大膽地創造視覺空間無限反射延伸的“絕對過程” 。 奧德霍恩主張“雕塑應創造比作品本身更大的空間”, 看似黑鎘的冷靜精準, 實則帶東方哲學禪意,細膩虛實穿透,以“滅點”作為每件作品的開端 ,由線延展成面,再由面創造詩意的想像空間。

卡蘿・普魯莎 Carol Prusa (USA, b. 1956)
以銀針筆創作大型裝置著稱。 她經由銀針筆的精密與洗煉灰階,結合雕刻樹脂、玻璃纖維、金屬箔甚至是LED燈等當代媒介,以獨樹一格的創作方式,探討浩瀚宇宙間神秘的“未知”, 使我們得以去想像宇宙初始的渾變、融合以及萬物間的神秘力量。 「未知」雖然讓人卻步,卻也同時使人期待,普魯莎的銀針筆繪畫詮釋宇宙演化的核心混沌相互作用,發掘其生命之美與宇宙間無形的力量。

克里斯蒂安・格琳 Christiane Grimm(Germany, b.1957)
創作被描述為“不插電的動態光影”。 多年來,她致力於研究光線、色彩、空間,與特殊玻璃、壓克力等材質的有機結合,並有系統地、精確地處理層次與感知色彩。 格琳擅長以光作畫,眾多作品由垂直水平分割的塊狀圖形構成,漸變的序列色彩與線條不斷交疊,在光線照映下,呈現一種立體而柔和的物質性。 而作品也隨著光線變化與不同的觀賞位置,展現不同的立體層次效果。

迪爾克・薩爾茲 Dirk Salz (Germany, b. 1962)
出身於藝術世家,從小學習繪畫與藝術史,現居住創作於德國米爾海姆。 薩爾茲創作時從不使用筆刷和畫布,而是使用油漆滾筒及潑灑樹脂時的重力,使作品脫離傳統極簡主義,探索透明度和色彩與光線和空間之間的關係。 這次展出的是他《Deep Dive》系列的作品,藝術家以顏料與環氧樹脂反覆構築出深不可測的抽象色塊,也使他的作品在富有深度的同時又被賦予了神秘的色彩 。

馬克 Marck (Switzerland, b.1964)
以錄影雕塑(Video sculpture)聞名。 他利用極精密的錄影裝置、影像,搭配親手打造的雕塑佈局,將女性作為作品中的被觀看對象,處於孤立的約束狀態並展開各種身體行為,透過作品去觀察觀者的視角,反映 女性在社會中所賦予的相對角色,也展現了當代社會中各階層的生、心理狀態,在層層疊疊的限制之下,人們遊走在生存的邊界,並做出身體的回應。

楊・克拉 Jan Kaláb (Czech Republic, b. 1978)
持續走在一條非傳統的藝術之路,其幾何塗鴉壁畫可見於紐約、 布拉格、倫敦等城市。 他以點出發,發展幾何圓形形變,以及3D 塗鴉雕塑,從街頭到畫布,塗鴉的概念走入極簡純白的藝廊空間,擦出迷幻的火花。 克拉透過色彩及有機變形體,不斷探討畫面的深度、動態、改變、時間凍結、永恆邊界⋯等,鮮豔的色彩讓視線慢慢地模糊、融合,也使作品帶有充滿能量的流動感。

潔西卡・準珂Jessica Drenk (USA, b.1980)
主修3D藝術創作,透過創作傳遞物質的可塑性,延伸自然與人造物間循環應用的關係。 她的創作理念源自於對大自然的崇敬,以及物質形變的可能。 此次展出作品《Circulation》透過裁成條狀的書頁合成樹幹切面,表達生命循環與自然與人造間的連結。 在她的作品中常見有機的形體、花紋或質地,或經人工再造的創作媒介如書冊或PVC水管等,也會歸根於大自然的型態。

珍娜・華生 Janna Watson (Canada, b. 1983)
加拿大藝術家珍娜華生(b. 1983)以抽象繪畫作為逃避及回歸現實的方式。 受到古典構圖及現代主義幾何的影響,華生以離散卻又無法分割的色塊組合成束的色彩,她將畫面上各種筆觸和混合顏料稱之為“瞬間”, 每個瞬間都有各自 的情感重量與敘事權,筆刷俐落的劃過又轉向折疊, 多彩的漸層優雅卻充滿力量,背景溫柔地指向熟悉的事務,以鮮明的構圖與色彩喚起觀者的情感。

Pascal Dombis
(Frence, b. 1965)

Graduated from Tufts University computer art and Insa University in Lyon, France. Digital artist Pascal Dombis currently lives and works in Paris. His focus involves the exploration of language, noise, control, and irrationality. Dombis has been using computers and algorithms to generate and elaborate repetitions of simple processes, which computationally reproduce geometric or typographical signs. Started as a painter, Dombis notes that his encounter with William Burroughs’s art was a key moment for his new investigations into digital art. Dombis uses optical materials such as lenticular plates to revisit the way viewers look at things, and to question the very nature of images in the broad sense of the word. By using lenticular, allows him to play with the viewer’s gaze. The incessant circulation of images has made the way of looking at things more dynamic. Moreover, the lenticular material questions this new reading paradigm and brings about a physical and time-related experience. Over the years he created monumental public works for the City of Perth, Australia, the Ministry of Culture in France, and an 8 meter long outdoor sculpture installation along the River bank in Shanghai, China. His art exhibited around the world including Musée en Herbe in France, Museum Kunstpalast in Denmark, Velchev Art Museum in Bulgaria, and the University of Georgia in the USA.

Susanne Kühn
(Germany , b. 1969)

Susanne Kühn holds a Master's degree in Painting and Printmaking from the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts, currently lives and works in Freiburg and Nuremberg, Germany. She was awarded a scholarship from the Harvard University Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies. Central to Kühn's practice is her highly animated and vivid execution of a precise level of craftsmanship through which she interweaves various painterly vernaculars and styles. Via this aesthetic approach, she engages with the history of painting from a female perspective, as well as exploring everyday life and futuristic narratives in her current work. Kühn's work has been showcased in solo exhibitions at various renowned venues, including the Gemäldegalerie der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna, the OMI International Arts Center in Ghent, New York, Haunch of Venison in London, UK, Sala Uno Contemporary Arts Centre in Rome, the Harvard Radcliffe Institute in Cambridge, USA, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver, USA, the Museum für Neue Kunst in Freiburg, etc. Her work is represented in collections worldwide including viz. the Busch-Reisinger Museum Collection / Harvard Art Museums, Cambridge, MA, USA, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Knoxville Museum of Art, the Harvard Radcliffe Institute, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, FRAC Alsace, France, Museum Frieder Burda, Baden-Baden Germany.. etc.

Ruprecht von Kaufmann 魯普雷希特.馮.考夫曼 (德,b. 1974) 出生於德國慕尼黑,BFA洛杉磯藝術中心設計學院畢,曾任教柏林藝術大學、漢堡應用科學大學和萊比錫美術學院,現居住創作於柏林。作為一位突出的圖像敘事藝術創作者,他選擇研究圍繞著人的各種層面,利用當代繪畫的視覺語言,展現批判敘事與平行現實幻境。於歐洲各大城市倫敦、柏林、斯圖加特、奧斯陸、紐約展出;作品獲紐約知名收藏家族(Hort Family)、德國 Sammlung Philara 博物館、德國法蘭克福德意志聯邦共和國國家銀行等,眾多公私立機構永久收藏。

Sandra Ackermann
(Germany, b. 1974)

Sandra Ackermann lives and works in rural Germany and London UK. She studied fine art at Staatliche Hochschule for Bildende Künste – Städelschule Frankfurt am Main. In her work she combines the interest in the human appearance with the observation of the newly appearing digital image culture and the way it changes the perception we have about ourselves. Ackermann understands her work as an ongoing project of cultural observational studies from a female perspective, interlacing political and emotional movements of society into poetic paintings. Her work has been shown internationally in Europe and Asia in Galleries and Museums, including Royal Opera Arcade, Städel Museumm, Städtisches Museum Engen, etc. Her work is present in private and public collections, including art collection of Rhineland Palatinate, Germany.

Adrian Wald 阿德里安・沃爾德

Germany, b.1986)

Adrian Wald (Germany, b.1986) was born in Bavaria, Germany, currently lives and works in Munich. He studied graphic painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and the Ecole Mediterraneo des Arts in Marseille, France. In Wald's creative field, there is no clear boundary between "sculpture" and "painting", installation works that combine sculpture and painting are the main forms of creation. He deconstructs objects and embodies the concept of "breaking the way or order of viewing paintings" through his works. Wald has been selected to participate in the artist-in-residence program in Riedenburg, Germany many times, and has received grants from the Bavarian Ministry of Arts and Culture.

Reinoud Oudshoorn
(Netherland, b. 1953)

Reinoud Oudshoorn is a contemporary minimalist artist from the Netherlands. He graduated from the AKI Art Academy in the Netherlands and currently lives and works in Amsterdam, where he used to teach at the KABK (Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten). Reinoud Oudshoorn is renowned for his minimalist sculptures focus on "Vanishing Point" to construct three dimentional spaces: physical space, invisible space and poetic imagination space. He advocates that "sculpture should create space larger than the work itself" . His exhibitions across Europe, America, and Asia, exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum and Museum Fodor in Amsterdam..etc. Works permanently collected by the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the AkzoNobel Art Foundation in the Netherlands, ABN AMRO Bank in the Netherlands, and the private art museum Sammlung Schroth in Germany..etc.

Carol Prusa
(USA, b. 1956)

Carol Prusa holds a Master of Fine Arts from Drake University, where she specialized in painting. She is known for her meticulous silverpoint technique, an ancient and refined grayscale technique with the silver stylus, and the use of unexpected materials from sculpted resin and fiberglass to metal leaf and LED large-scale installations. Through this precise and sophisticated method, she explores the astronomic origin of life as well as the philosophy of cosmology in her silverpoint work. Carol Prusa received a SECAC Artistic Achievement Award in 2017 and awarded for 2020 Manifest Prize. Her works have been highly regarded in historical books on Silverpoint feature. Prusa participated in 2015-2016 Miami Biennale and had exhibited in many museums and important institutions including the American Academy of Arts and Letters, Boca Raton Museum, Louisiana Museum of Art and Science, etc. Her work included in excellent public and private collections, including the Perez Museum of Art, The Museum of Arts and Design (NYC), Telfair Art Museum (Savannah), Spencer Museum of Art, and the Francie Bishop Good and David Horvitz Collection.

Christiane Grimm
(Germany, b. 1957)

Dirk Salz
(Germany, b. 1962)

Dirk Salz lives and works in Cologne. He was born 1962 in Bochum, Germany, to an artistic family. Through his childhood and high school, he grew up painting, drawing, and studying art history. Salz’ artistic work deals in different manners with human perception or rather with the insufficiency of our mind that shapes this perception. His work can be found in a number of private collections, as well as prominent corporate collections, such as the Akzo Nobel Art Foundation.

Marck
(Switzerland, b. 1964)

Marck (Switzerland, b. 1964), a contemporary Swiss artist renowned for Video Sculpture, currently lives and works in Zurich. Marck's unconventional journey led him to enter a prestigious art school at a young age, only to leave due to the inability to tolerate formal education. Subsequently, he engaged in diverse occupations, including auto dismantling, mechanical electrician, rock singer, and tech installation design. Marck's unique life experiences transcend the imagination of conventional academy-trained artists, manifesting in his self-created video sculpture expressions, addressing societal issues through themes of frames, women, viewing, and interaction. in 2019 he was honored with the International Culture Award by Academia Culturale Internazionale Cartagine in Italy. His works have been showcased internationally and collected by significant museums including La Maison Rouge in Paris, St. Petersburg Contemporary Art Museum, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Istanbul Modern, and the Karlsruhe Center for Art and Media.

Jan Kaláb
(Czech Republic, b.1978)

Jan Kaláb graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Czech Republic, and currently lives and works in Prague. As a pioneer of Czech graffiti art, Jan Kaláb has been constantly forging a path as a non- traditional artist. He transitioned from street graffiti into pure white spaces, starting with points and developing them into circular transformations and 3D sculptures, condensing the exuberance of the outdoors onto geometrically distorted canvases. He represented the Czech Republic at the Shanghai World Expo in the Czech Pavilion and his works are held in collections at The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library (NCSML), National Art Museum of Brazil, Deji Art Museum in China, Daejeon Museum of Art in South Korea, and cooperate with numerous international luxury brands including Dior and Tiffany.

Jessica Drenk 潔西卡・准珂
(USA, b. 1980)

Jessica Drenk’s work is an inquiry into materiality: what makes up the objects that surround us as well as the composition of the natural world. She is interested in how parts combine to create a whole and the intricacies of shape and texture found in the world on every scale. In treating everyday objects as raw material to sculpt, she practices a form of conceptual alchemy: through physically manipulating these objects their meanings become transmuted. Each piece is a direct response to material—a subversion of the meanings associated with it, and a reference to the life cycle of objects through time.

Janna Watson
(Canada, b. 1983)

Janna Watson(Canada, b. 1983)uses abstraction as both an escape from and return to the real. As the world we know dematerializes into paint strokes, so too does her paint take stage as its very own character in a multi-act drama of composition. Bundles of colour, made up of discrete yet inseparable instances of pigment—what Watson refers to as “moments”—are teeming and poised as though caught mid-multiplication. Sweeps of paint re-direct sharply and fold over themselves; thin, rigid ink lines cut into the pictorial field as rudimentary elements in an increasingly complex system of painterly language. All the components play out on a surface of slow, chromatic gradation. Like many of Watson’s players, these backdrops tenderly gesture toward the familiar, stopping just short of representation. The result is a conceptual project (and distinct, stylistic signature) that speaks to a contemporary milieu in which abstract painting is not the retreat of meaning into an unrecognizable realm, but rather the emergence of medium as a “figure” in its own self-inscribed world of feeling and being. Watson does more than reveal paint’s potential to emote—she gives it a space to reveal itself, in its own time.
